Trends in Business Communication
What role does business communication play in the day to day activities at work? How does it help manage the daily work activities?
The effective communication development is important traits that can help develop business relations successfully. Recruiters know that excellent communication skills will be advantageous to their corporations, so both corporations and employees can reach the goals from the ability to communicate in a proper manner. According to Kira Bartolomei, (2010), it is an excellent idea to encourage the communications skills of the workers because it is strongly necessary for all work environments. Good communication is essential for many reason such the following ones:
To encourage the business relation. It means to establish confidence and trust between employers, employees, stockholders, and even with the competitive markets. It is a process that relies on effective communication skills to develop a relation, includes health and strengthens for a business relation. Two forms of communication can be used to develop this skill: verbal and nonverbal. Non-verbal communication means to make contact with the persons talking with, and listening to the body language.
To Resolve Conflicts. In all work environments, persons are to respond to conflicts between departmental workers. Communication skills will help administrators handling misunderstandings and conflictive issues with tact and smooth to avoid disturbance situations. “Conflict resolution relies on good communication skills, because miscommunication is often the reason for the conflict in the first place. When you employ effective communication strategies with your staff, you can smooth the waters so the team members get along and continue to be productive.” Help Guide Newsletter, (2001-2010).
Public Speaking. All managers will be required to prepare and present various meetings, conventions, and other activities that include audience interactions. It means that communication skills will be used in business constantly. Meetings rely on excellent communication for the development and interaction of ideas, management decisions, and for negotiations between coworkers, prospects and investors. Even if the person is not the official host or master of ceremony in a meeting will be important to use the listening skills that are a relevant piece of communication, to be aware about the decisions being made.
Business Communication is strongly necessary to manage the daily work by providing the logistics to schedule the day. All working duties are running around business communications. On today’s business environment, excellent communication skills are strongly required to become a successful worker.
What trends have you seen in your workplace or previous workplace?
Communication trends are used within the workplaces come in many forms such as memos, e-mails, blogs, dashboards, business meetings and letters, are some of the types of trends businesses can use to interact, compare, and share information. The results will vary depending on the main purposes. It may be informative, requesting and persuading to either an internal or external agents.
Many companies count with employee policy handbooks, reviews, and recognitions to establish company standardizing and corporate image. These types of trends are strongly used in all business environments; they help obtain a sense of ethics, values, and clear instructions of all employees.
The latest one I used was a script for call answering. It included the proper way to respond the corporate telephones and also tips to remind the professional tone for every business interactions for incoming and outgoing calls.
What message types are results of these trends?
When businesses obtain excellence in communication, it will develop and strengthen the relations between all the inside and outside interactions. It also guarantees a clean, professional image that will develop and maintain strong business relations between partners, co- workers and even the competitor’s sector.
